Policies Regarding the Use of the Center

* Who can use the Center?

  • Use of the Nabb Center is free to all Salisbury University faculty, students and staff.
  • Daily use of the Center is available to all researchers for a $5-per-day research fee.
  • Yearly membership is available and the varying types of membership offer unlimited research at the Center for the membership duration.

* At the Center, patrons are required to:

  • Sign in completely.
  • Pay daily fee or show membership card.
  • Leave briefcases, satchels and books at the front desk.
  • Bring only pencils and notebooks into the reading room (laptop computers are permitted).

* While researching:

  • Check with research assistant for location of materials, locating and loading microfilm and using the database to search collections.
  • Do not re-shelve books.
  • Do not re-shelve microfilm.

The Nabb Center does not perform pro bono research of any kind. All research performed at the request of patrons, organizations or other entities is carried out based on availability of staff and will incur fees.

Research is defined as any active process of inquiry aimed at discovering, locating or interpreting information in the form of photographs, text, books, and various print materials. Some fees are waived for non profit organizations provided they can demonstrate proof of their 501(c)(3) status. Written guarantees of appropriate copyright notice along with the proper crediting of the Nabb Research Center must be included in all publications, works or exhibits arising from research activities using material within its collection.

Collections should be cited as stated in the appropriate finding aid. In the event that a finding aid is not available credit lines should be cited as Collection Name, Collection Type.
