Abstract This collection contains a photocopied newspaper article from the Daily Times, dated June 9, 1996. The article is entitled, "As Good as Gold, Couples celebrating their 50th anniversaries say the war helped them forge their marriages." The article features Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lauidsen, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pennington. These various couples claim that the war and the generation in which they were raised help create stable marriages before, during, and after the Second World War. All families represented in this article are from the Wicomico County area.
