| Abstract |
This collection contains a geological survey map of
Salisbury, MD and its various types of allocated land
usage. The survey was performed in 1973 by the U.S.
Department of the Interior. The map identifies the
boundaries of the different usage areas, with
appropriate definitions (residential, commercial/service
areas, etc.). |

Historical
Note
Salisbury, MD is the most populous city on Maryland's
Eastern Shore and is the county seat of Wicomico County, MD.
Salisbury was initially founded as an important port city in
the Chesapeake Bay region, and currently still remains the
second largest port city in Maryland (behind Baltimore). As
of the 2000 census, Salisbury had a population of over
23,000 inhabitants.
